COVID 19 The Crisis
COVID 19 (coronavirus) which has hit the world after almost 10 decades of the Spanish Flu has led to major loss to the human life and Slowing down the pace of the economy.This virus was first identified in China in 2019 which was similar to (SARS) which was identified in 2002.Thousands of people suffered illness which led to death.The common symptoms of these virus are fever,cough ,cold,sore throat,body pain,breathing problems, which led to pneumonia.A hygiene protocol was issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) on wearing face mask, maintaining social distancing in public places to avoid the spread of the virus.It led to a ban on social gatherings, shutting down religious places, offices,schools.A complete lockdown was enforced by many countries around the globe to break the chain of the highly communicable virus.Half of the worlds workforce went jobless leading to hunger issues.Older people were at a higher risk specially those with cardiovascular disease,hypetension, diabetes
Talking about India,it lacked in the terms of quality health care, making India second largest covid effected county.Being a country of higher labour population people were unable to feed themselves.Majority of the population started migrating back to their homes from cities due to no income.Due to the major lockdown imposed on the country all the transport services were shut down which was another problem for the migrants which led to move them on their feet towards their homes.There were death of many who were walking thousand miles without basic needs like food ,water.Seeing this situation the people came up with help for these poor feeding them their basic needs.Later on the states authority came up with certain transport services for migrants.
Industries such as pharmaceutical,tourism,IT were tremendously affected by this havoc.The healthcare sector faced challenges in diagnosis of patients with other health related issues.There were lack of beds for the covid patients.Doctors and other health care workers were at major risk and some of them lost their lives in treating the virus infected.Health care works such as police were TTO at a high risk protecting the population by ensuring that all the safety protocol been followed by the population.Some of them lost their lives in protecting as they got infected by the deadly virus.
The outbreak hampered one of the most important system: education.Education is one of the most important factor that helps in individual growth of a human being.Millions of kids were impacted in the pandemic.Large number of girls population were dropped out from schools.The traditional way of teaching was not in force due to lockdown this resulted in innovation of modern learning method of online teaching.The education system was highly disturbed in India due to the hit pandemic,where all the lectures were conducted online which required smartphones.This created a problem where huge population were unable buy or get access to a smartphone.According to a survey it states that the online lectures were not so productive compared to the offline.Children's were more into games and other fun activities on their smartphone instead of the educational activities.Examination were postponed and conducted online that was another issue for the parents.
The pandemic disrupted the social and cultural activities such as celebrations of religious festivals,social gatherings,wedding ceremonies.All the entertainment places like malls ,theater,clubs,gymnasium,sports club were shut.Social distancing with the family members was one more consequence of the outbreak.All the national and international flights were cancelled which effected the tourism.It was identified that people who were travelling tested positive during international visits.The quality of life has been affected.But the people in this situation got more into relaxation, exercise which helped coping up with the mental health.
Covid 19 pandemic disrupted the mental health due to job losses increasing the consumption of alcohol, drugs,anxiety which increased the rise of mental health services across the globe.
Agricultural sector had a huge loss while the covid pandemic due to border closures,trade restrictions which prevented accessing the market.Buying and selling of the harvested crops was a major issue.This broke the food supply chain, where healthy and safe diet was not accessible for the majority of population.Low income countries, small scale farmers were hardest hit leading to poverty and hunger.
Major economic downfall occurred as there was disruption in manufacturing of essential goods and supply of products.The demand and supply of goods was highly disbalance.There was downfall in oil and petrol pieces due to less demand and closed borders for international trade.The national and international businesses was slowed down and the revenue growth effected the GDP of the many countries.Small business were temporarily shut down on th globe.The outbreak has left the countries a decade back.
